Tom Vincent
Biography
Tom Vincent (born January 27, 1956) is an American comic book artist and colorist/painter. He is best known for his work for Marvel Comics on the Silver Surfer (vol. 3), which he colored from 1989-1995. Vincent also painted The Thanos Quest, several graphic novels, posters, trading cards, covers and advertising while working for Marvel. Other titles he has contributed to include X-Factor, Thor, Speedball, X-Men Adventures, Nick Fury Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. , Hellraiser, and many others. He has also done work on Fish Police for Time Warner Books, and illustrated Robotech, Fish Police, and Grendel for Comico. He has also done work for First Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and Windsor-Smith Studios. Although he still does occasional comic related work with longtime friend and collaborator Kevin Conrad, Vincent retired from comics in 1997, becoming a web and graphic designer for a national entertainment retailer and then an art director for an Albany, NY advertising agency.

One of the best trio's I have heard, the fully swing! Catch them live if you can. Tom Vincent toured with Branford Marsalis and he said something 'like they swing better than any jazz act' he has heard in New York.
Internet feeds OUT of PHASE
Sorry about the odd nature of this comment and the way it is made, but I can find no other way of communicating with the powers that be.
Could the moderators please pass on the fact that all of ABC's digital jazz internet feeds seem to be OUT OF PHASE. This is when the two 'halves' of the stereo work against each other - one speaker moves forward while the other goes backward and vice versa. This is entirely contrary to nature so sounds really bad. Worse still, if you are listening in mono where the two stereo halves are mixed together, rather than adding together to create a nice mono sound, they tend to cancel (i.e. +2 - 2 = 0) which leaves a thin, distant sound.
Normally I wouldn't say anything and just move on, but you have a great station here so it would be nice to hear it as the producers intend.
Best wishes from London.
Hi Pluto... thanks for listening to ABC Jazz. We’re glad that you like the station.
Sorry you’re having difficulty with the streams. We are aware of the streaming problems experienced by some listeners and we are in the process of fixing the problem, although this might take a little time.
Meanwhile, we’ll do what we can to improve things in the short term.
Regards from the ABC Jazz team!
Dear ABC Jazz - many thanks for the swift reply. FYI, this really shouldn't be a tough nut to crack - I am a broadcast engineer in the UK. The out of phase condition almost certainly arises just before your internet feeds are assembled. If the problem was any earlier in the chain it would affect listeners to your local DAB feed and that, I imagine, would cause many complaints.
I would guess at a simple wiring error in the (analog?) audio being fed into the machine doing the audio coding for the internet feeds. This guess is based on the fact that creating a phase reversal in a digital stream (should you wish to do so) is a fairly major undertaking; a simple wiring error is the most likely possibility.
Best, Paul O
