2012 WAYJO Concert Season
ABC Jazz is pleased to continue supporting WAYJO in 2012, with it's development of young West Australian jazz musicians aged between 14 and 25.
WAYJO provides invaluable experiences to its students, such as performing with guest artists, touring, training and recording. Local jazz musicians Jamie Oehlers, Libby Hammer, Graham Wood, Carl Mackey and Mat Jodrell are just some of the graduates of WAYJO.
The 2012 composer-in-residence is Andrew Murray, who is expected to bring his meticulously crafted modern jazz pieces to the WAYJO performance season.
Other performances with the WAYJO orchestra during the year will include US bass trombonist Ed Partyka, and vocalist Sarah McKenzie teamed with saxophonist Mike Stewart.
