ABC Jazz is proud to be supporting The Marcin Wasilewski Trio at the 2010 Sydney Festival.

Marcin Wasilewski Trio:

City Recital hall - January 27 @ 6:30pm

Honing their skills working with Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, the trio of Marcin Wasilewksi (piano), Michal Miskiewicz (percussion) and Slawomir Kurkiewicz (double bass) have emerged at the forefront of contemporary European jazz trios, with several critically acclaimed albums for the ECM label.   Their repertoire includes music by Prince, Carla Bley, Gary Peacock, Tomasz Stanko and Ennio Morricone as well as original compositions by Wasilewski.

Stanko says ‘In the entire history of Polish jazz, we’ve never had a band like this one.  They just keep getting better and better.’
