ABC Jazz was pleased to welcome NZ tenor saxophonist Roger Manins to the studio on a recent visit to Australia.
He shed some light on this 2006 performance, discussing how the gig came about, through conversations with Peter Rechniewski from the Sydney Improvised Music Association.
Manins also had a chat about his influences as well as his take on Australasian Jazz. Well worth a listen!

Bernie McGann (born 22 June 1937) is a renowned Australian jazz alto saxophone player. He began his career in the late 1950s and is still active as a performer, composer and recording artist. He is a player and composer and is one of the most original and accomplished modern jazz soloists to emerge from the Australian scene.
