In 2009, ABC Jazz launched as the first continuous jazz radio station in Australia. At launch, we included Jazztrack with Mal Stanley and Jazz Up Late with Gerry Koster in our offering, giving audiences more opportunities to hear these fantastic programs.
Since then, we've also welcomed Jazz Notes with Ivan Lloyd and the esteemed jazz journalist Jessica Nicholas to the airwaves. On Thursday nights you can catch a live recording, while on Friday afternoons hear Talking Jazz, with local and international jazz musicians discussing their influences and inspirations.
Mal Stanley and Jessica Nicholas hosted this special one-off breakfast program on August 24, 2012, broadcasting live from Federation Square in Melbourne alongside 774 ABC Melbourne and many commercial radio breakfast shows.
Guests
Rob Burke; saxophonist and educator
Adrian Jackson; Artistic Director, Stonnington Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz
Tamara Murphy; bassist and composer
Sonny Rehe; Uptown Jazz Cafe, Melbourne
Tony Walker; Manager, ABC Digital Radio

Thanks Don...!
I listen to ABC Jazz almost every night and on weekends when working on the computer. I cannot work with any other style of music. That way if I like something I can look it up and buy it I am compiling a great playlist. So I just wanted to let you know that I really do appreciate this channel and the professional presentation of the music.
Hi all, thanks for listening...!
This show is not available for 'download' due to copyright restrictions on the audio content in the program.
However, we can offer it as 'streaming audio' (after broadcast) from this page.
Hope that helps,
ABC Jazz.
how can I save this to my computor for future playing 2012 OB Fed Square
Thanks heaps, Mal and Jess, for enduring the "balmy" OB facility (I assume heaters were out of question due to noise) to bring this to us. I am a regular listener to both of your programs.
Great music from two great presenters!
