Catherine Russell revisits the music from Harlem's heyday on a new album, recently nominated for a GRAMMY.

Our feature album this week on ABC Jazz is Catherine Russell's Harlem On My Mind. She's the daughter of Louis Armstrong's longtime musical director Luis Russell, and on this release she conjurs vocal greats like Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith - focusing on songs from yesteryear with some lesser-known standards on the tracklist. The recording was nominated for a GRAMMY Award in 2017.
