On ABC Jazz this week, we're exploring a recent recording from a Melbourne-based trio named 'Refraction.'

Drawing on inspiration from piano trios by Tord Gustavsen and Esbjorn Svensson, Refraction is led by drummer and composer Chris Broomhead, and it's their 2nd release to date - with Brenton Foster re-appearing on keys and Jordan Tarento taking over the bass chair. The album's titled Inerrant Space, and is out on Rare Colour Records.
