ABC Jazz presents a special broadcast from the 2015 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, featuring US vocalist Kurt Elling and the MSO.

Tune in on May 31 at 2pm as we cross live to Hamer Hall for two live sets from the GRAMMY Award winning musician. Kurt will be joined by his quartet of Mads Baerentzen on piano, John McLean on guitar, Clark Sommers on bass and Kendrick Scott on drums accompanied by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Northey.

Tune in at 2pm AEST. If you're in South Australia, join us from 1:30pm ACST and Western Australian listeners can tune in from 12pm AWST.

Kurt Elling (born November 2, 1967) is an American jazz vocalist, composer, lyricist and vocalese performer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Rockford, Elling first became interested in music through his father, who was Kapellmeister at a Lutheran church. Growing up, Elling sang in choirs and played various musical instruments, but was not exposed to jazz until he attended Gustavus...

Hmmm depends if you discuss here Mingus>Shadows & Light period aided by Jaco Pastorius era ,then you might have a point . Besides she's poorly now lets hope she survives this awkward period.....
