This competition has closed.
The winners are:
Julia House - The Piano Accordion - why? Because you would score an invite to any good party. You can't go wrong knowing how to play the Piano Accordion.
Jenny Lindsay - The clarinet! I love it's versatility from Trad Jazz, Dixie and Blues to Classical. Well played, it's tones give me goosebumps every time without fail. To me, the clarinet can express happy, smooth and sensuous so well. PLUS it is small enough to travel with and play wherever I may end up in the world. My bucket list includes playing the "licorice stick" in a dixie band.
John van de Lustgraaf - The ukulele becuase you don't even have to start playing it before it brings a smile to people's face. A big bloke like me, playing a small uke has to bring a smile to the dial.
Sean Newell - I gave in to my temptation to play the drums long ago! How could have I resisted? Apart from the obvious physical and mental challenge involved, it has more freedom than any other instrument. The drummer never has to panic when they don't know the chord progression of a chart. Additionally, if the drummer wanted 14 toms, 4 bass drums and 39 cymbals it is perfectly acceptable, but so is if they turn up with as little as a snare and brushes. Finally, being the seeker of attention that I am, how could I not resist the idea of every other instrumentalist stopping when I break out into a solo
Emma Puszkar - I've always wanted to play the spoons; affordable, fun and embarrassing for the kids when their friends come over for dinner!

What a lovely lady. So down to earth and honest.
We did a little interview / chat thingy on the extempore website recently with Sarah - she was a delight to talk to! Here's a link if anybody wants to take a look. http://www.extempore.com.au/?p=2970
