The band's 1987 recording, Ten Part Invention has been recently re-released and ABC Jazz has 25 copies (signed by bandleader John Pochee) to give away.
Formed in 1986, Ten Part Invention is an ensemble created by drummer John Pochee. The band has been a platform for some of the most creative composers and improvisers in the Australian jazz scene and is still going strong after a quarter of a century...

A stellar outfit which continues to astonish us all, with the excitement, creativity and almost magnetic force of the powerhouse musicians within it. This multi-faceted band is correctly regarded as a consummate Australian musical institution. If visitors to Australia want to gain a speedy, yet memorable insight into our jazz - and the quality side of our music! - then this is the band to access.
