Two of New Zealand's finest musical exports come together to explore some of their favourite standard material.

The New Zealand-born, Sydney-based pianist Mike Nock has teamed up with saxophonist and fellow expat Roger Manins for a new duo collaboration. Manins originally worked with Nock in the early 2000s, as part of the Mike Nock 'BigSmall' Band.

The dynamic pair have reunited once more, and have just released their duo album Two Out, which was recorded at the Sydney Conservatorium's Verbrugghen Hall and features some of their favourite standards. Nock remarks that "it was a pretty relaxed and spontaneous session. Most tunes were first takes, as Roger and I wanted to capture some of that elusive magic that can happen when you 'look the other way.'"
