I have just entered the competition twice, the first time by mistake - I pressed 'submit' before I had finished writing the 50 words or less.
Please disregard the first entry - you will notice incomplete sentences.
Many thanks,
Kate Simpson

It has been wonderful to see Perth musician, Linda Oh do so well in a male dominated field. After many years of playing in Perth and New York she finally has international recognition playing with many of the greats. I would love to see her play as Wangaratta.

Any chance Cyrille Aimee will be make a last minute surprise return to the line up this year?...discovered the Wangarratta festival when I heard her voice on ABC Jazz radio about 2 years ago and was blown away...she's like Billy Holiday meets Ertha Kit meets modern day jazz...with a scatting speed of...well very fast. Of course I haven't managed to get to Wangarratta yet so here's hoping my entry in the competition gets me there instead :)

I would like to see GIAN SLATER & LINDA OH because they are outstanding examples of the great female jazz talent originating in Australia. I respect and admire what they have achieved with their music, and it is a rare opportunity to hear them play together.

I would love to see the grate New York City Bassist William Parker Perform, since San Diego is a very dry Jazz city with very few jazz icons performing here.
