The annual event is held as part of the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and will show case vocalists in 2012.  On the judging panel will be Mike Nock (chairman) and Australian vocalists Michelle Nicolle and Vince Jones.

Contestants will perform on November 3 and 4 with the top 3 performers chosen to play during a live broadcast on Jazztrack with Mal Stanley from 5pm on November 4.

Accompanying the soloists for the weekend will be Sam Keevers; piano, Sam Anning; bass and Raj Jayaweera; drums.

The winner will receive $10,000, a recording session for Jazztrack with Mal Stanley and an invitation to perform at the 2013 Stonnington Jazz Festival.  The runner-up receives $5,000, while the singer in third place wins $2,500.
