Capital Jazz Project 2012
In its second year, the Capital Jazz project is growing into a vibrant event, with multiple venues and networks with the Australian National University.
Headlining the program is US reeds-man Bennie Maupin, who will be a guest artist in residence alongside Melbourne pianist Joe Chindamo.
Other Australian musicians on the bill include the Sandy Evans Trio, Gian Slater's Invenio, the catholics, the Bernie McGann Quartet, Tim Willis and The End and Ben Hauptmann.

Artist Biography
Bennie Maupin (born 29 August 1940) is a Detroit Michigan jazz multireedist. He performs on various saxophones, flute and bass clarinet. He is probably best known for his participation in Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi sextet and Headhunters band, and for performing on Miles Davis's seminal fusion record, Bitches Brew.
