Melbourne-based jazz pianist/composer Tim Stevens has picked up this year's Jazz APRA Professional Development Award, worth over $25,000.

The awards are held every two years in the following categories:
- Popular Contemporary (3 awards covering Pop, Rock, Blues, Folk, Hip Hop, Dance and R&B)
- Country
- Jazz
- Classical
- Film and Television
- Indigenous
- Jessica Michalik Contemporary Music Endowment
- Stephen Schwartz Songwriting Award

Bet he wasn't talking about this award. 25K and judged by musicians. Tim's not that stupid.
