Congratulations to Sandy Evans, whose album 'When the Sky Cries Rainbows', has picked up the 2011 AIR Award for Best Independent Jazz Album.

The album features a 60 minute suite, composed by Sandy, as a response to her husband, Tony Gorman's journey with Multiple Sclerosis.

It features Sandy's trio (Sandy Evans, Brett Hirst and Toby Hall), with special guests (Phil Slater, James Greening, Alister Spence and Hamish Stewart).

When The Sky Cries Rainbows will be performed at the 2011 Wangaratta Festival of Jazz.  More program info here.
