Wangaratta Jazz line-up released
The Wangaratta Festival of Jazz 2009 will be staged over the weekend of Friday 30 October - Monday 2 November and will feature a variety of international acts as well as a plethora of Australian talent.
This year's line-up includes international performers such as:
New York trumpeter Charles Tolliver, jazz singer Kendra Shank, drummer Ari Hoenig, pianist Barney McAll, guitarist Nir Felder, saxophonist Froy Aagre and bassist Linda Oh, who moved from Perth to New York in 2003.
Local talent will include the likes of The Mothership Orchestra, The Australian Art Orchestra, The Band Of Five Names, Paul Grabowsky, Scott Tinkler, Julien Wilson, Steve Magnusson, Allan Browne, Andrew Robson, Kristin Berardi and Mike Nock.
The festival will also feature the annual National Jazz Awards finals, which will this year feature competitors on the saxophone.
Artist Biography
Barney McAll (born Melbourne, Australia, 1966) is a jazz pianist and composer. Barney McAll completed a Bachelor of Music (B. Mus. ) at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, studying with pianists Paul Grabowsky, Tony Gould and Mike Nock and with guitarist Doug Devries.
