Wangaratta launches 2012 program

The Wangaratta Festival of Jazz has announced their 2012 line-up, which includes some international notables and some new local collaborations.

Visiting musicians include the UK's Lighthouse Trio, Germany's No Tango Quartet and US vocalist/actor Gregory Porter.

Also on the bill: Trio M (US), Cyrille Aimee (US/France) and Jon Cleary (US), who will team up with Australian veterans, Jonathan Zwartz and Hamish Stuart.

Australian performers include Aus-expats Sam Anning and Raj Jayaweera, collaborations with Bernie McGann/Paul Grabowsky and Phil Slater's tribute to the great Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe.

And the annually held National Jazz Awards will feature vocals in 2012, with guest vocal judges Michelle Nicolle and Vince Jones teaming up with judge chairman Mike Nock.
