Last week, we heard from 2016 Freedman Jazz Fellowship Finalist and Sydney pianist Luke Sweeting, who spun music by Andrea Keller. Well, this week we're continuing the trend and hearing from another finalist - Melbourne drummer James McLean. James came in to discuss percussionist Phil Treloar and the short-lived Australian Art Ensemble featuring Bobby Gebret (piano) and Mark Simmonds (tenor sax). We'll hear a track composed by Gebert called 'Nexus,' tracked in 1979, and recovered by Phil Treloar for the 2011 reissue Of Other Narratives.

There's also music from James himself, with his trio All Talk, as well as former Freedman Finalist Shannon Barnett.
