Jazz Up Late:

Ornette - Live in Paris

Ornette Coleman
Page added Oct 3, 2012 Updated Oct 12, 2012

The first time CD release of a rare Ornette Coleman concert by the short-lived quartet with Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell.

The exact location and recording date of this concert are unknown, but the most important thing is that music is available again after its original 1977 bootleg LP release had long since disappeared. After recording Ornette's celebrated Science Fiction sessions, the quartet engaged in an extensive tour of Europe and this recording from the period ranks amongst the best in both performance and sound quality.
