US bassist Michael Formanek's latest album 'Small Places' is among this week's featured new releases on Jazz Up Late.

Michael Formanek's encore to his widely acclaimed The Rub And Spare Change released in 2010 again features his new quartet with alto saxophonist Tim Berne, pianist Craig Taborn and drummer Gerald Cleaver, and is a prime example of 21st century American jazz.
