Gerry Koster presents a seminal British recording by the star-studded Tubby Hayes Orchestra. Once heard, no further proof is required.

Another British big band this week led by another significant Englishman in jazz: Edward Brian "Tubby" Hayes. Recorded the same year as Mike Westbrook's Celebration, Haye's 1967 album 100% Proof is another considered one of Britain's premier big band recordings.

Edward Brian "Tubby" Hayes (30 January 1935 – 8 June 1973) was an English jazz multi-instrumentalist, best known for his tenor saxophone playing in groups with fellow sax player Ronnie Scott and with trumpeter Jimmy Deuchar. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest British jazz instrumentalists.
