Drummer Matt Wilson pays tribute to his late wife on a new release which, brings together musicians from his many groups over the years.

Current members and alumni from Matt Wilson's various groups combine to revisit the music Wilson's late wife loved in this moving tribute, titled Beginning of a Memory.

Also on the show, David Murray, Geri Allen and Terri Lynn Carrington form a new trio and we'll hear their debut release, plus there's the new album from Melbourne band Way Out West - led by trumpeter Peter Knight, and another trumpet-fronted recording by Norway’s Hildergunn Oiseth.

While Wilson was an English concentrator at Harvard he met John Munson and Elaine Harris and formed the band Trip Shakespeare. After the breakup he was a drummer for a Minneapolis band called Polara. Hi there, sorry about this - we're working on getting them back up onto the ABC Radio Player (where they normally are displayed alongside listen again audio). ABC servers were affected by an outage, impacting song metadata, but there should be a solution soon. If not, we will upload the playlists here by COB today.
