...From the 2014 Brisbane International Jazz Festival. Mal Stanley brings us a Jazztrack recording with Andrew Butt from Brisbane.

Based in Queensland, Andrew Butt has been a stalwart of the Australian music scene for many years. On this episode,  we will be hearing from his suite titled 'Songs for my Daughters', recorded in June 2014.

We will also be hearing from the iconic saxophonist Ornette Coleman, who was recently honoured with a tribute concert in Brooklyn, New York featuring his son and drummer Denardo Coleman. On this episode, Mal brings us a recording from his collaboration with guitarist Pat Metheny form 1985, from the album titled Song X.

We will also be featuring the late Horace Silver accompanying other bandleaders, including Miles Davis and Stan Getz, plus a rare appearance from Duke Ellington as a soloist with a Canadian jazz orchestra in 1967.
