Pianist Ben Markley has teamed up with trumpet player Terell Stafford on a new big band release that draws inspiration from the music of the late Cedar Walton.

Of the project, Walton's wife Martha remarked: "to hear a big band's interpretation of Cedar's music has to be the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my life! I know Cedar is beaming at the results." On this episode, we’ll hear the original from Cedar Walton - 'I'm Not Sure.'

Also on the program is new music from pianist Steve Kuhn and his trio, as well as a recent recording by Canadian bass player Robert Occhipinti. Plus, Mal revisits John Coltrane live in Europe in 1963.
