Alice Coltrane added string arrangements and other overdubs on various unreleased John Coltrane sessions for the Impulse album Infinity - hear the results on this episode of Jazztrack.

UK trombonist and bandleader Chris Barber with clarinettists Edmund Hall and Albert Nicholas from the 1960's.  Another fine clarinettist and saxophonist  Anat Cohen from her new release 'Claroscuro' with a Dr Lonnie Smith tune.

Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes in jazz and was later at the forefront of free jazz.
