Playlist Information

A playlist and listen-again audio are available for 1 month by clicking the play button above after the broadcast.

Ella Fitzgerald (vocalis) and Louis Armstrong (vocals and trumpet) are heard on this week's show from two recordings during the mid-to-late 50s. Ella had many great collaborations during her life, including with Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson and Nelson Riddle - but arguably her most memorable pairing was with Satchmo.

There's also plenty of new Aussie recordings in the playlist - including more from The Vampires with Lionel Loueke and some solo piano from Tim Stevens. We'll also revisit a new Jazztrack recording from the Melbourne Recital Centre with James Sherlock and Ben Hanlon.
