Following on from Iiro Rantala's retrospective of the late Esbjorn Svensson, another tribute has just been launched on ACT Records, featuring the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra with original E.S.T. members Dan Berglund (bass) and Magnus Ostrom (drums), plus other special guests.
Also on the program, American pianist (& psychiatrist) Danny Zeitlin explores the 1960's compositions of Wayne Shorter on his new solo piano album and UK pianist Neil Cowley and his trio find inspiration from science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke on a new project titled Spacebound Apes. Plus - more from Chilean saxophonist Melissa Aldana and her trio recorded at the 2016 Wangaratta Jazz Festival.
