Playlist Information

A playlist and listen-again audio are available for 1 month by clicking the play button above after the broadcast.

Miles Davis is heard with his then newly-formed sextet - the band that would go on to record the classic studio record Kind of Blue. There's also liev snippets from Eddie Condon in 1947 with Muggsy Spanier at the New York City Town Hall. Plus from 2011, we'll dip into a set from Chick Corea's birthday celebration concert with fellow pianist Herbie Hancock.

Also on the show, we'll hear some tunes from the late Australian singer and pianist Janet Seidel, who sadly passed away earlier in August.
