In honor of the Australian pianist Tony Gould's 75th birthday, Mal presents a classic recording with his trio plus Graeme Lyall from 1994.

Tony Gould has been and continues to be an influential Australian composer and performer. To celebrate his 75th birthday, we've found an early Jazztrack recording from 1994 with Gould's trio and special guest Graeme Lyall.

Another feature on this episode is a new release from the Sydney-based pianist Casey Golden and his trio of Bill Williams and Ed Rodrigues, titled Outliers. The trio will officially launch the album on February 5, 2015 at Venue 505 in Sydney.

More new releases on the show include one from Bill Frisell with Guitar In The Space Age and Verneri Pohjola's Bullhorn.

Mal also brings us some classic Charles Mingus compositions with an arrangement of 'Moanin' performed by the Mingus Big Band, as well as Bernie Worrell's 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat,' which was Mingus' tribute to the great Lester Young.
