The Sugarfoot Ramblers 4by3
Page added Jun 30, 2017 Updated Jul 10, 2017

New music this week from Melbourne outfit The Sugarfoot Ramblers - with an appropriately titled recording called 'Trad Colossus.'

Playlist Information

A playlist and listen-again audio are available for 1 month by clicking the play button above after the broadcast.

The Sugarfoot Rambers consist of Melbourne musos Travis Woods on trumpet, Chris Vizard on trombone, Jon Hunt on clarinet, Matt Hayes on banjo, Hiroki Hoshino on bass and Daniel Berry on drums. Like their first album, their second release again sees the group drawing inspiration from some of the early icons of jazz - such as Jelly Roll Morton and Satchmo - as well local icons The Red Onions and The Hoodangers.

Also on the show is music from sax player Sonny Criss in the 50s and 60s. Plus, hear a new recording by Aussie vocalist Trish Delaney-Brown and her quintet in our Sydney studio ahead of a special Home Cooked episode.
