Playlist Information

A playlist and listen-again audio are available for 1 month by clicking the play button above after the broadcast.

Pianist Joe Turner hit his stride in the late 20s (no pun intended!), and we'll hear him on this episode captured 40 years later during the late 60s. MPS has just reissued his fabled LP Smashing Thirds, and we'll take a listen to it to kick off this episode.

There's also some new releases out including one from the Aussie trombone player Shannon Barnett, recorded in Germany. Plus catch drummer Ted Vining and his trio with Alan Lee from 2003 from our Jazztrack archives as we celebrate the Aussie stalwart's 80th birthday.
