Congratulations to Sam Anning, who has taken out first place at the 2015 National Jazz Awards in Wangaratta, Victoria!

In 2015, the awards focussed on the bass, with 10 semi-finalists competing across the festival weekend.  3 finalists were then selected to perform for a Wangaratta and ABC Jazz broadcast audience - bassists Sam Anning, Alex Boneham and Tom Botting.  In the final, the judging panel consisted of Mike Nock, David Friesen, Phil Stack and Geoff Kluke.  Bassists were accompanied on stage by Steve Barry; piano, Carl Morgan; guitar and Tim Firth; drums.

Stay up-to-date with all the festival happenings on our Facebook and Twitter pages and at our Wangaratta webpage here.
