Just released: the complete 1958 concert by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers at a club in Paris... featuring on this episode of Jazztrack.

Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers gave a high energy performance at the famous 'Club Saint Germain' in Paris in 1958 which has now been issued in its complete form on cd.

Tony Bennett and Dave Brubeck came together for some songs in Washington in 1962 which only now sees a release.

Organist John Patton and saxophonist Ike Quebec fly the Blue Note flag plus recent releases from Trichotomy, Julia Hulsmann and more.

Art Blakey (Arthur Blakey; October 11, 1919 - October 16, 1990) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. He was known as Abdullah Ibn Buhaina after he became a Muslim. Blakey made a name for himself in the 1940s in the big bands of Fletcher Henderson and Billy Eckstine. He worked with bebop musicians Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.
