Doing it their way: Paul Grabowsky plays Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Paul Bley plays Ornette Coleman, Tony Gould plays Rodgers and Hart, and Stan Tracey plays Duke Ellington.

Also doing their thing: trumpeters Scott Tinkler and Dave Douglas, Murphy’s Law, Nils Wogram’s Root 70, John McLaughlin, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Canadian drummer Harris Eisenstadt, Vijay Iyer, and the duo of vocal artist Jay Clayton and drummer Jerry Granelli.
