Duke Ellington's war time Victory Bonds broadcasts , cross cultural musical pioneer Yusef Lateef and more....

Hear some more Duke Ellington from 1945 and the US Treasury Victory Bonds broadcasts. Also some classic Yusef Lateef and the lesser known progressive vibraphonist from the early 60's Walt Dickinson. Art Pepper towards the end of his life in 1980 playing clarinet at Ronnie Scott's plus other fine reissues and some recent Australian recordings.

Yusef Lateef (born William Emanuel Huddleston; October 9, 1920) is an American Grammy Award-winning jazz multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator and a spokesman for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community after his conversion to the Ahmadiyya sect of Islam in 1950. Although Lateef's main instruments are the tenor saxophone and flute, he also plays oboe and bassoon, both rare in jazz, and also uses a...
