Beyond Wayne

Children Of The Light
Page added Sep 24, 2015 Updated Sep 30, 2015

Wayne Shorter's long-time rhythm section - Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade - have released a trio album of their own, with Shorter's blessing.

The album is called Children of the Light, and it honours Shorter's spirit as well as the powerful rapport the trio has developed over the past 15 years.  Also on the show this week, recent releases from Jamie Oehlers, Philip Catherine and Dave Douglas (who'll be visiting Australia for this year's Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues).  And we pay tribute to Mike Nock and John Pochee, both of whom turn 75 this month.
