The phenomenal US vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant is coming to Australia for the first time to perform at the inaugural 'Sydney Sings' fest.

Born in the US to French/Haitian parents, Cecile McLorin Salvant is a powerful performer and creative interpreter of whatever repertoire she turns her hand to - often vintage jazz or show tunes - and we'll hear from her latest GRAMMY-winning release.  Also on the show, we'll hear from some of the shortlisted artists for the 2016 Bell Awards - including Barney McAll, who leads the field with four nominations for his album Mooroolbark.

Cécile McLorin Salvant (born 1989) is an American jazz vocalist. She was the winner of the first prize in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 2010, releasing her first album, Cecile, shortly thereafter. Her second album, WomanChild, was released in 2013 on Mack Avenue Records. In 2014 Salvant was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Salvant won four...
