Marius Neset's latest release combines his love of intricate writing and improvisational freedom. It's called Snowmelt, and we'll explore it in this episode, along with the latest offerings from several other pianists: Finland's Iiro Rantala (in a first-time encounter with drummer Peter Erskine), New York's Bill Charlap and London's Nikki Yeoh. Plus new Australian releases from Pigeon Laundry and Memory of Elements, and a tribute to the late Toots Thielemans.
