Norway's Geir Sundstol (pictured) paints atmospheric soundscapes on a fascinating array of instruments; there's a jazz-meets-folk tribute featuring artists from various Nordic countries; and Danish pianist Thomas Clausen pops up on two different albums: a new duo recording and a newly-rediscovered session from 1980 featuring the great Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen.

Thomas Clausen (born in 1949) is a Danish jazz pianist. He has recorded with many leading Scandinavian jazz musicians, and with Bob Brookmeyer, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, Jackie McLean, and Ben Webster.
