A Rift in Decorum is the latest release from trumpet player Ambrose Akinmusire, once again bringing together his band of Sam Harris (piano), Harish Raghaven (bass) and Justin Brown (drums). The album was recorded live at the venerable Village Vanguard in New York City.

In 2007, Akinmusire was the winner of both the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and the Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition, two of the most prestigious jazz competitions in the world.
