On this episode, we're sampling new music from pianist and composer Carla Bley, who's once again been busy in the studio with Steve Swallow (bass) and Andy Sheppard (woodwind). Bley's influence as a composer speaks for itself - her tunes have been performed by Jaco Pastorius, Jan Garbarek, Tony Williams and Phil Woods, to name a few - and she's at it again on her latest title, Andando el Tiempo. The compositions form a suite of the same name, and were inspired in part by watching one of her friends recover from addiction. The movement we'll hear is titled 'Potacion de Guaya.'

Also featured is new music from Melbourne big band leader Andrew Murray, who heads up the band ATM15. That album is also our Home Cooked feature this week, and you can read our interview with Murray here.
