Wow, did I enjoy that incredible broadcast! Thanks ABC Jazz.
Loved Lloyd's welcome references to his earlier Atlantic work. "Tagore" was particularly spell-binding.
Glorious sounds played in a glorious region of the world. (I haven't actually been to Finland, but I have spent time in nearby Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The fine folk around there truly know and appreciate their jazz.)
A very uplifting hour's listening indeed.
Gratitude,
Christopher Lynch.

Possibly my favourite living Jazz musician. I won't miss out on this broadcast that's for sure!
I've admired Lloyd since my long-past youth. His sublime artistry on his haunting yet adventurous work of art "Charles Lloyd In Europe", was on my vinyl turntable on a daily basis soon after its release. Passionately recommended. (Features a young Keith Jarrett and an equally young Jack DeJohnette. Lloyd's spiritually motivated flute playing takes one on a magic carpet ride.) Other recordings of his work from this era are also well worth a listen.
Christopher Lynch.
