Hello Barry..I try and balance what to give gig info about given that Jazztrack is a national program and many of the venues provide listings /schedules or have websites with that info …but thanks for letting us know of these others....I'll investigate..
Details of upcoming gigs for possible inclusion can also be emailed to me via: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Bill Evans version I seem to recall that was used for a time by Ian Neill was from the 1970 album" From Left To Right " ..
Hello...I'm pretty sure it was the Bill Evans version that was used for Music to Midnight with Ian Neill.
Having said in my previous reply re the second last track details on the radio player site..might be a holiday gremlin as I'm not sure they are displaying..but I think the track is that Paul Motian trio playing a Bill Evans tune..from the album 'Bill Evans' on JMT records..a great album// (Paul Motian/Joe Lovano/Bill Frisell)..
When I get back in the office after hols I'll check..
If you go to the listen again button on that show (Dec 24) it will take you to the ABC Radio Player..and when you click on play the music details will come up..

We recorded Linda Oh and her band at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival so listen out to Jazztrack ...I'll mention it when ready to broadcast music from that concert..It will also get an airing on Thursday Night Live on ABC Jazz at another time.
Hello Boris and Simon,
thanks for getting in contact. Yes there have been changes to how Jazztrack can be heard...
You mention you are both in regional areas...you should be able to hopefully tune into ABC Jazz via your TV.. channel 201 carries the ABC Jazz service...Jazztrack can be heard 5pm eastern time (and repeated 2pm and 9pm eastern on Tues & Wednesdays)...
Boris you are near Birdsville I understand...do you receive the remote VAST service via Satellite? This also carries the ABC Jazz service...here is a link for more info: https://www.myvast.com.au/channels/ABC
you can forward any info to me via:
Ted Gioia is a fine writer...his website has a lot of resources also..articles etc: http://www.tedgioia.com/

Due to funding pressures yes we now have an interest in various saxophone factories..and have just invested also in a kazoo manufacturer so expect to hear a plethora of kazoo solos in the future.....
I think I played some Eric Dolphy not long ago..happy to play more..I'll search out some Steve Lacy for you also...
Must play more Bud Powell then!...Such an important pianist...I'll search some out...Mal Stanley
Re the W.A Jazztrack times...on digital radio Jazztrack is still broadcast at 5pm..
On ABC Jazz on TV Channel 201 and on line it is broadcast at Eastern time so this would
be 3pm in non-daylight saving time in W.A.
It is also available anytime to listen to online after broadcast from the ABC Jazz website or
the RN website..click on the Jazztrack link.
These changes to Jazztrack were made as part of the reorganisation that occurred at the ABC earlier this year.
Hopefully you can still access Jazztrack....
Sorry Earl that it's difficult for you to tune into Jazztrack with the changes that have been made as a result of recent events. As to podcasts we hope later this year to be able to offer our music programs (including Jazztrack) as downloadable as a non-saveable file to your device to be listened to at your convenience..
As you are outside the reach of digital radio perhaps an option is listening via ABC Jazz on channel 201 on your TV?
The tune you were referring to was by the Bennetts' Lane Big Band recorded at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival back in 2003 called 'The Antidote'..not released commercially unfortunately. Mal Stanley
